On the road again
Aug. 6th, 2002 10:22 amWahey! Another holiday, another plane journey! I'm off tomorrow morning to fly to Toronto. Tomorrow night is a Chick dinner with 6 or 8 of my online chick friends. I have plans to go to the Redpath Sugar Museum and maybe a little shopping if there's time before dinner. I promised to seek out a cd by Afghan Whigs (1965). Yes, that's right, a sugar museum. Redpath used to or probably still does run a refinery. I love odd small museums and won't miss this one! :) There's a shoe museum in Toronto to but doubt i'll see that unless Sunday's lunch plans don't pan out. But i *need* to see a sugar museum!
Overnight in Toronto and off to Peterborough by bus in the morning. I'm spending the weekend at a farm B&B meeting up with some other online friends for a weekend get together. Some of us will have Thursday and Friday to potter around, and there is a larger Saturday afternoon pot luck picnic at the farm :) Some of the group i've met before face to face but a few will be new to me, at least to see. I've chatted with these people for a few years! The official title of the get together is the Peterborough Possum Ping. Possums being an affectionate word in our online community for boobs. Male equipment equivalent is aardvark ;) There will of course be Aardvarks in attendance on Saturday but the main Come From Away attendees (Me, Jubbly, Hippolyta) and the hostess are all Possum Proud ! :)
Sunday will be bussing back to toronto, arriving around dinnertime. Hoping to hook up with my aunt and uncle and cousin and his wife for lunch. Flight home is 5:15. I will be sad and missing everyone. It's like peeling a layer off with every good bye! Our online community, aside from one or two nutters, are all lovely, good friends, many having met face to face and I've spent many happy times with them.
