Mar. 7th, 2004 06:54 pmI didn't go to painting today. it was cold and i was sore from housework yesterday. I worked on it myself here instead though and to my surprise it wasn't yet dry from last week. Paint must have been on it too thick i guess. And i added more lol oh well. Really all that's left to do is add the cat face (This is the print i'm trying to reproduce more or less). I want it to be good and dry before i do that. I think it needs to be almost the same colour blue but maybe with a bit of gray in it. it has to stand out a bit. My light blue is lighter than in this photo so maybe i can make the ears just a little darker than the blue and the eyes and whiskers a light gray with a little touch of blue. What d'you think?
Likely it won't be dry by next week either so i think i'll take the small canvases in that i had planned to paint on with some corrie stuff. I'll dig out the two photos i have in mind and see what he says to do with it to get the effect i want. One is the white and black street sign on bricks and the other is the frosted glass window of the pub with the pub name in it and green windowsill around. Took the photos when i was on the street set in 2000. They would make up nice ping prizes for April.
I also should find out if there's a way i can get a print made of my first painting. Would make a good calendar. And i have to find out how to frame it. I suppose i can take it to a frame store for that but surely i could buy one of those snap together wooden frames and do it myself. Ohhhh there's someone at work that paints, i'll ask her what she does.
Mom and Dad came over for a cuppa and to exchange magazines and tapes and things. She had a bag full of tourist info for Sedona, Arizona where they're going at the end of the month. Looks like some startling rock formations around there, and they have balloon rides! I don't think they'll go but i would! They're going to do a day trip to the Grand Canyon too which is about 100 miles away. Now a balloon trip into the Grand Canyon would be even more impressive! Mom doesn't like heights though. AND she wants to go on a trail ride on a horse! Dad will, if he can wear a cowboy hat lolol! There SO needs to be photographic evidence of this!
