tvordlj: (Movies)
Well, wet Sunday anyway. Typical spring sideways rain with high winds and a lot of wet down. Welcome to a Nova Scotia spring, sweetie lol We had a quiet Sunday mostly but we did dodge the raindrops to go out and see Kingdom of Heaven tonight. Putting all semblence of historical accuracy aside, as you do, the movie wasn't a bad yarn overall. We found it dragged a bit in places and then seemed to end rather quickly. Some pretty gruesome battle scenes. Liam Neeson had a smaller role than i thought. Orlando Bloom was ok i guess. Replacable but not too bad. The actor that played Saladin was quite good, very piercing. Of course they had to throw in a love sub-story though most of it consisted of the Princess/Queen staring out over the walls or through windows or hacking at her long hair with a sword while looking into a not very shiny shield or something, which , of course, turned out to be a rather cute gamine-cut when she was done. *yawn* Jeremy Irons was in it too and i wish there had been more of him. Seems like all of the really good actors, Irons, Neeson, and the Saladin feller were all too short on scenes while pretty boy was in most of them. I know it sounds like i didn't like the movie but really, it wasn't that bad but it could have been a lot more.
