Best. News. Evah.

Dad had another "swallow" test and this time he passed it! He's now allowed to take little sips of water and tomorrow they will try him on clear broth. He's hoping they'll take the chest and feeding tubes out tomorrow as well and said that the nurse told him that *if* all goes well, he could be home by the weekend. I am going to be cautiously optimistic on that one. I don't think he's strong enough for that yet. He's going to have to change the way he eats and eat smaller and more frequent meals. He said it feels a bit weird swallowing though but that makes sense considering what they had to do. I won't go into details. You might be eating or something ;) Even if he's not home this weekend, it won't be long now.

And in other news....

I got a lovely postcard from my nephew who's working out at the Banff Springs Hotel. Apparently i'm an amazing person and one of the sweetest people he knows and gramie_dee had better treat me right ;) He also said he was impressing his supervisors there and said he'd got a letter from a guest praising him and his supervisors are holding him up as setting the bar for his colleagues! Well i'm not surprised! That boy is going places and he's already proven that at his former job, bringing up ideas and showing great initiative. I'm really proud of him, needless to say :)
