I attended a Corrie fan club get together this afternoon. One of the regular attendees won a raffle prize and hobbled up to pick out her prize. She was using a cane and had on a smashing outfit and heels. She is about my age, maybe a little younger, and she has MS. Her condition varies but overall she's getting worse. I stopped to chat on the way out and compliment her top. She mentioned that her cane didn't match her outfit and i made a reference to her heels and said "I don't know how you do it", meaning, having to use the cane but dressed in heels. She just laughed and said "Just because I'm an invalid, doesn't mean I have to give up the shoes!" Bless! She always has an up beat and positive attitude, at least when she's out and around. Doesn't let it keep her down or home if she can help it. We could all take a lesson from her.
tvordlj: (Doctor Who)
I've discovered that CBC isn't showing the next series of Doctor Who until OCTOBER!!!! Cripes!!! That's pathetic and apparently the reason is because 1 measly hour a week will interfere with the broadcasting of the NHL playoffs which they put on just about every freaking night as it is, sometimes 2 games back to back. So what's wrong with airing it in the summer, then? Pah! [livejournal.com profile] gramie_dee is going to tape it for me for the weekends i'm there so i'll see about half the series. I may have to try to get bit torrent working to see if i can manage to download the other episodes. I haven't been very successful so far but i've hooked up to UKnova which has UK tv shows so i might get that working. I have a mate that uses that site successfully. My mate Annie records tv on her PC so maybe she'll dvd it for me. I simply can't wait until October!!!
