Oct. 22nd, 2006 03:29 pmMom and i had a nice 2 hour wander around the craft and antique show yesterday, overdosing on all the lovely dishes on display. They always have the dishes and glassware sparkling! I saw a couple of nice square tables i liked too but i have no room for any furniture! I picked up a couple of handmade soaps that looked kind of layered with glycerine layers and solid layers and look like candy! I got a present for a friend and got a few small pieces of fudge that i nibbled on last night while we watched movies. Two hours on a cement floor doesn't half take it out of your back though. I'm suffering a bit for it today.
We got a couple of movies. Discovered mom's Blockbuster account is primarily in Dad's name though her name is on it too. We keep coming upon things like that which are always a bit ... well they do make you come up short don't they?
So a couple of good movies. One was the Lost City with Andy Garcia (phwoar!) and is about Cuba in 1958 before, during and just after the revolution. It's about a rich family and how the politics affect them. Bill Murray is in it as an enigmatic writer whose name we never find out and doesn't seem to have any purpose other than possibly the Greek Chorus. The other movie is A Good Woman based on Oscar Wilde's Lady Windemere's Fan and had Helen Hunt as the notorious man/husband stealer and Scarlett Johanson as the young innocent Meg. We liked that too and with a lot of Oscar dialogue, you can't go wrong. the older English men in the movie were the best characters.
