Baby it's cold outside
Dec. 28th, 2006 03:22 pmToo cold. That wind is bitter! We've been so lucky with it this winter so far so it's always a bit of a shock when we get a cold day. I wanted to go to the drugstore to pick up a prescription and then was going to go to the mall for a few things. Nothing necessary, just stuff and maybe have a look through the sales if the crowds weren't too insane. Got the prescript and was waiting for the bus which turned out to be quite crowded so i decided to wait for the one that came in another 5 minutes. By that time, my face felt frozen into a teeth baring grimace and my legs were just a small tad wobbly, this being my first time out since i wasn't well over Christmas. I didn't really think i fancied walking around the mall after all so i came home, picked up a few groceries at the corner store (Yes, i can hear my father rolling over in his grave when i paid $3.99 for a small jar of peanutbutter! He *hated* corner shop prices and would drive out of his way to avoid them whenever he could! He would have been pleased that grocery stores are now open Sundays so he wouldn't be stuck when Mom's recipe called for something she forgot to get!)
Now. I have a quandary. Not really a quandary as such, but i am planning to do a sort of year long photo project. My first thought was have a few photos that represented each month. Photos would be taken around the area, not too far afield, subjects that mean July or November or March in HRM. (i.e. the Busker festival is always in August so that's an August photo and Canada Day is July) But then i started thinking that maybe it should actually chronicle *my* year, things that happen to me. for instance, if i had done it in 2006, i would include a photo or two from the Stones Concert. That doesn't represent September every year, but it was *my* September in 2006. But i would still like to have photos that represent the month as well such as pumpkin photos for October. I don't want huge numbers of photos for each month, but could a combination of my year and monthly representation be too confusing? Shouldn't i focus on one or the other? So to speak. But then would i be able to include the first crocuses peeking through the earth in April? Photo projects should be about one thing, one theme. Some photos might be more personal to me than others, but some months might not have too much to distinguish them otherwise if i don't have something a bit personal in it. Thoughts or opinions?
