tvordlj: (Christmas Candy Canes)
Feeling a lot better today, Not ready for a full steak dinner yet but things are looking up. :)

Downloaded the Doctor Who Christmas special, Runaway Bride and without spoiling it, i really loved it! I have no previous experience with Catherine Tate though i've heard people say how annoying she is but i thought she was good. Loud, yes, but that's what the character was, loud and bossy and she was humbled a bit by the end. Everyone knows i always liked Chris Eccleston. I never didn't like David Tennant, just found the touchy feely stuff between he and Rose a bit un-alien but he on his own has been a very good Doctor and in the special he really took off. Maybe because Rose wasn't there, i dunno. He plays the Doctor's dark side as a very good contrast to his usual eccentric and enthusastic persona. The actress that played the monster was *fabulous* and i'm very glad they didn't completely cgi the Racnoss and used her face for at least closeups. Excellent stuff. The shows never seem long enough and are over so quickly, i think because you are just getting into them and they wrap them up a bit on the quick side. The two parters always seem to work so much better in that respect but since most of them aren't multi-part, i guess you just have to get used to the quick wrap up for the most part. Speaking of two part shows, CB-fucking C showed us part one of Satan Pit and left everyone hanging for part two. The last couple of Mondays they've showed Christmas movies and specials! Good think i saw the whole second series already thanks to the magic of uTorrent. I'd really be pissed if i hadn't seen it yet.

Got my printer/scanner all-in-one installed with no problems and have scanned and printed successfully. Not tried the copy yet but i'm sure that will be fine too. Apparently it has OCR in it too, though i don't know how much i'll use that feature. Now all that needs to happen is that i get my camera back from Future Shop. *grump* and it wants to happen damn soon or they'll be giving me a new camera. Not sure i'll keep the "loaner" i've been using though. If i have a choice, i think i'd like to get a Canon. Don't know if i'll get out to check out any sales this week or not. I sometimes go with a mate of mine, and if she calls i may go with her. Big sales on today but there isn't anything i really want badly enough to brave the masses. There really are some good deals if you're willing to go the distance, queue up early and be ruthless. I saw an ad for a 32 inch lcd tv for nearly half price. I'd almost be tempted. But not quite.

Friday, Mom and i are going to a family afternoon open house. I'll enjoy that because we didn't go to my aunt's on Christmas night due to me feeling naff.

My new printer/scanner is working just fine, thanks. But there's a little icon in the system tray that advises me that i can safely remove the hardware. Now how do i make that go away? I never had that pop up before when i installed anything. Rebooting only shifted it's position on the tray. Stupid Windows.

1. Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was excellent.
2. A jumper cable walks into a bar. The bartender says, "I'll serve you, but don't start anything."
3. An invisible man marries an invisible woman. The kids were nothing to look at either.
4. A man woke up in a hospital after a serious accident. He shouted, "Doctor, doctor, I can't feel my legs!" The doctor replied, "I know you can't - I've cut off your arms!"

Oh come on. you know you laughed!
