Mar. 18th, 2013 09:08 amBrrrr... after a week of mid single digit temps, we're back to -10 with a windchill of something stupid. It feels even colder!
Stayed overnight at Mom's on Saturday. My nephew J. is in Paris and she's got nobody in the house for the week so i thought i'd keep her company. We did a bit of shopping and had a burger out yesterday before coming home. J. seems to be having a great time in Paris according to a few status updates he's posted to Facebook though he's not uploaded any photos yet. I don't know if he took his iPad but maybe not, so he won't have a way to get the photos off the camera i suppose.
We are 7 weeks away from our vacation. I found a discount theatre ticket site that seems reliable and is promoted by Timeout New York so it must be legit. I'd love to go to the top of the new tower they've built at the World Trade Centre site but it seems like i saw something where they're charging about $25 for it. Why on earth is it so expensive to take an elevator up to an observation floor. It costs them nothing, they have to maintain the elevator anyway and if they're selling souvenirs, they can make the cash from that. I suppose the same can be said for the Empire State Building and the Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center tower) too. There should only be a minimal fee. The CN Tower in Toronto is the same thing though i do believe it's free if you have a reservation to eat at the revolving (expensive) restaurant. Truly a tourist trap if you think about it. We'll be doing the ESB though, so i probably won't do the other buildings out of principle!
My cousin and I have tickets to see Rush in July! I've never seen them perform live and they do an excellent show. No opening act, they usually do 2 or 3 hours all themselves. We got decent seats and it should be a good show! I might need to bring earplugs though because I think we'll be close enough to the stage and sound system for it to matter. I'm getting old. *sigh*
