It's all about meme

1. What did you do in 2013 that you'd never done before?
Rode through NYC traffic in a bicycle/taxi. Stood on the deck of an aircraft carrier (museum in New York). Had major organs removed ;)
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Don't make them other than to try or do new things or go new places.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Mostly, my friends are becoming grandparents.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes, an uncle (91), my aunt's partner (70 something), another uncle by a former marriage also in his 70s.
5. Which countries did you visit?
America, England
6. What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013?
A clean bill of health. So far so good. Will be having regular checkups to make sure.
7. What dates from 2013 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Aug. 18, had major surgery (hysterectomy due to cancer scare)
May was our trip to NYC
January I took a quick trip to England because I was invited to a visit to the ITV/Granada Corrie set.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
reached 25 years in my job.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not being more vigilant about the gym aside from trainer sessions
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
See above. The hysterectomy was due to cancer found in the uterus. They have said they believe they've got it all and caught it v. early.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Bought a beautiful bracelet with Alice in Wonderland a la steampunk on it with gorgeous intricate detail front and back.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Graham of course. Lots of friends and family who cheered me up after the surgery, esp. my bestie Jo who brought me a sock monkey that howled like Tarzan :)))
Also my mate Glenda who made it possible to get an invite to the Corrie studios in January this year. She's always sending me Corrie swag and is a good friend.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Toronto's mayor Rob Ford whose appalling behaviour provided the country with continual amusement. Google him.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Travel mostly.
15. What were you really, really, really excited about?
Trip to the Corrie Set and our trip to New York.
16. What song will always remind you of 2013?
Do What You want - Lady Gaga as the year I discovered I liked her!
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) Happier or sadder?
about the same, content

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
A bit more exercise. Really.

Being lazy ;)

With my family at my mom's and then niece's new house.

No, still in love :)

Aside from the obvious (Corrie), loved Grimm, Doctor Who, Big Bang Theory, Dexter, True Blood, Game of Thrones

On the webcam with Graham
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Not hate, but there's one or two i could cheerfully live without.
26. What was the best book you read?
11/22/63 by Stephen King, Most of Debora Geary's books esp. An Unlikely Witch, The Blackhouse by Peter May,
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Lady Gaga actually. I never really rated her much before but was very impressed by her appearance on Graham Norton.
28. What did you want and get?
Reached the point at work that i can take retirement if i choose. Nice option to have if i need it.
29. What did you want and not get?
Can't think of anything other than Graham here full time.
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Quartet, Star Trek Into Darkness, Saving Mr. Banks
31. What did you do on your birthday?
Can't remember but i did spend time with my family and some friends.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
being able to have Graham here full time. It will happen sometime.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2013?
Low key. Comfort.
34. What kept you sane?
Graham, my family, my friends and the gym/personal fitness dragon
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
hmmmm The only one that comes to mind immediately is Aidan Turner. Not keen on The Hobbit but i loved him in Being Human.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?

37. Who did you miss?
My dad mostly though I know he's still with me. Wish my best friends lived closer.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
My cousin found a new lady and she's really nice. Fits right in with the family and she's a Corrie fan.

Don't take your health for granted.
