Feb. 28th, 2004 11:30 amWe didn't get our T4 slips yesterday as we are supposed to because.... our payroll person is on vacation and the person covering couldn't be bothered to let someone know she had them and put them in the post instead!! It's legal because they'll be postmarked before the end of February but it means we won't be able to do up our income tax returns until next week. Ok, it's not that big a deal *whinge* but if you expect to get a return, you like to get it filled out and filed asap. I have all my stuff gathered and i plan to file it via the internet on ufile.ca which i've used before. My boss has used QuicktaxWeb but it seems to cost a little more. Ufile is 12.95 to do it and file it over the net. Nice and quick and i usually get my return in 2-3 weeks. This year's return will go on my Visa against my Airline tickets for this summer though i may keep out $100 to buy myself something new :)
Went to the inter-departmental volleyball tournament last night and was a scorekeeper. It's quite fun really and the games were mostly really good. Plus i was scoring for the final championship game which was really close. You couldn't predict a winner until about the last 3 minutes as it was back and forth and tied at that point then one team pulled ahead just enough to win by 4 points. One of the final teams was the Fire Department *ogle... drool* and the other was from the Recreation Department (lots of Phys Ed type people) one of whom looked over at me with a cheeky grin before the game and said "You know you are the best looking scorekeeper we've had tonight!!!!!" Ha. Flattery isn't going to win you this game, mate :D (even if it was true! LOL!) They did win though.
