It's snowing. Again. Big fluffy flakes like someone shook a snow globe. There's no wind so they're just floating down aimlessly. Would look quite pretty .... if it wasn't snow ;)

Newfoundland has had over 230 cm so far of the stuff. My friend Floyd said the plow only just barely made it up his drive on the weekend. My cousin Gayle is moving back there in a month or two as her husband got a job there. It's only across the bay from where she used to live in Grand Bank but to get there, you have to drive way up north to Grand Falls and back down again. There aren't a lot of roads in Newfoundland :) If i went there i'd fly into Gander instead of St. John's.

Morning started off with a chuckle in the elevator on the way back from the chiropractor. There were two others that got in with me, one is a woman i've seen around, she works in the building maintenance company here. She had something in the kangaroo front pocket of her jacket that i thought was a roll of toilet paper so i said as a joke "you come prepared!" but it was actually a roll of tickets, the kind you might sell for a 50/50 draw LOL! Ooops!

Sharon and Carole didn't come over yesterday after all to reformat my old puter so it will have to get done some other time. Only i was faffing around with it, uninstalling stuff and deleting stuff and deleted something i shouldn't have and now i can't get back on the net with it. Doesn't really matter, the new puter should be in house tonight or tomorrow night latest. Will know when Joe comes in to work today. Must get up to the business supply store, Staples, and pick up some stuff, photo paper, cd's, cd wallets and some videotapes and a few little things.

Am a bit concerned that XP won't like some of my old software. Microsoft Money 99 and Office 97 are the two mainly. anyone out there have this running on XP? I might have to buy a new Money and perhaps there's a copy of Office 2000 floating around here somewhere. Also need to take home the Oracle, Crystal Reports and Word Perfect 8 cd's from here. I need WP for work documentation as it's still the standard in the office. Am also buzzing about reinstalling stuff and hoping i got all my dat files right so that i can have all my settings back, i.e. ftp and email and icq. Can't remember if i wrote my icq number down though i did write down the ones for everyone else just in case the dat file won't drop in correctly. LOL! Will get someone to email me my number if i didn't. At least the backup cd is readable. I only just figured out how to "close" the disk with the newer software i was using and now, with a new burner, it will probably have new software too though i could always reload the old. Will try it out first.

I'm rambling. I'll just get me coat.

The wind is over here whipping rain into our faces.
And blowing hoods down and hats off.
Meanwhile madman in paper alleges that the healthy human body will adjust to changes in temperature, except that we deactivate this ability by insisting on changing clothes with the seasons......

Fraid the weather is about my limit. Can't discuss computers ;-)

Ahh the sideways rain. I know it well. I don't own an umbrella. It's pointless as 95% of the time there's just enough (or more than enough) wind to render it useless. We insist on changing clothes with the seasons, eh? well that madman obviously doesn't live in Canada with the extreme temperature and weather changes. I'd like to see his body adjust to -30 with the windchill. He'd be minus a few extraneous digits and layers of skin. You do actually get used to the cold/heat somewhat. I lived in Ontario 5 years where it's much colder/hotter than here on the coast and the first year back i didn't shiver nearly so much in the winter nor did i find it *so* warm the first summer while everyone else was sweating buckets. But after that. well, i'm in with the rest of them now.

Looks like Easter Weekend in London at this point btw :) Am looking at possibility of hotels either Bloomsbury or the Strand judging from weekend specials on the web. Need to call the Cumberland at Marble Arch as well. Friend of mind suggests ringing directly and can get some really good weekend deals by asking sometimes. MA would be handy for the Airbus.
