Woke up about 2:30 a.m. Not sure why but maybe too warm. Just in time for a boomer of a thunderstorm. There was a *lot* of lightening too which i really hate. I even sat in the loo for about 10 minutes during the worst of it because there's no windows in there. I don't mind the thunder but the flashes always unnerve me. Needless to say today is going to be a high caffeine day. It's still raining too.

ETA: Everyone was talking about the storm at work this morning. A few people lost power too though I was lucky in that respect. However, my computer was frozen this morning. Mouse wouldn't move... nothing. I had to power it off and on again and now all my little quick launch icons on the taskbar are gone! I'll to a proper reboot after work, i imagine they'll be back after that. Hope so anyway.

Why is it you can never seem to buy a regular sized box of corn flakes? They always come in huge honkin boxes yet the others all seem to have a smaller size and the designer type cereals, the expensive ones, come in a box just the right size for me but they aren't corn flakes. I love a good box of corn flakes with sliced banana and the large sizes take so long to get through that it's stale. It doesn't even have to be Kelloggs, just the store brand will do and they're the worst offenders. It's all family sizes, and club packs that can feed an army. I bought something called "Just Right" with a few different types of flakes and grains but they're all mini sized, even the flakes and it's like eating birdseed. blech!

It's finally Friday at least. Small mercies.

I don't mind thunder either, it is the lightening for me. I guess cause I know lightening could actually cause some problems. Thunder is just a sound. I woke up when it began and the flashes were driving me nuts so I reached over, put on my sleeping mask and went right back to sleep. I got a really nice one for like 4.99 at Shoppers.

Hmm... never thought about a sleep mask. I wouldn't necessarily go back to sleep but at least i wouldn't see it.

We've had probably a half dozen since the spring, though not as wild as the one last night. Someone was saying it's more than we usually have. I know when we were kids, we had them regularly but not as many in recent years. What's really kind of cool is when you get thunder and lightening during a snowstorm in winter.

Only if you don't have to go out in it or try to get home from work. And don't have to shovel it after :)

I miss the thunder and lightening storms from when I lived in Lethbridge. I guess they didn't bother me there too much because I wasn;t too near the outskirts of town where it would have started grass fires and such.

As for the cornflakes - now I'm going to be checking out box sizes you know!

I remember when we could get the average size for cornflakes, but it seems like everything is family sized now for that at least.

I think it's possibly the accumulated static electricity that wakes you up.

Not seen a good storm for years now. Certainly there's only been the occasional rumble this 'summer'.

Hmm yes maybe it was the static. This was one of the wilder ones here that wasn't a hurricane or tropical storm.
