Having a lot of trouble getting into LJ since last night. At least now i can get there but i couldn't all day. Now tonight i'm having problems when i try to comment. It's very frustrating. Haven't had this kind of problem since i became a paid user so maybe they are having server problems or there's a broken connection somewhere between here and there.

Got home late tonight, am getting ready to go out again for my ex-boss's retirement do. We're just meeting up at the pub where he goes on Thursday nights for wings and surprising him. THey've collected quite a lot of money and are giving him a gift certificate from a home improvement store and the rest in cash in a piggy bank for golfing green fees come spring.

Today was a full one. Helped out a pal at work who was at her wit's end with her programming. Well.. ahem, after all i *am* the Oracle programming Goddess ;) Took us a good hour and a half to change it over to one way only to change it back to an earlier version she had tried but with some elements of the last one. Then my supervisor asked me and another guy into the office to discuss another problem with our favourite shit disturber... sorry... "Solid Waste Analyst"... That took me to lunch time and i was scheduled all afternoon for the Animal Control process mapping though the first hour was taken up by further discussion about the Solid Waste changes as that person deals with the same system through another area. Made progress though on both.

Now thanks be, i'm off tomorrow. Got the plumber coming in to sort out a leaky kitchen faucet, a drippy tub, a slowish flusher and a wobbly toilet seat. That means When i get home tonight i'll probably set myself to cleaning the bathroom LOL!

If you have a quick peek at status.livejournal.com, you'll see that lj is currently undergoind a ddos attack, and so they're having to block traffic to try and prevent the attack. It's been touch and go all day for getting it to work, really.

I gave the toilet at least a quick swish. The tub needs doing and the shower curtain needs washing so i will do that today before or after the plumber arrives. If he arrives. I was told he may not make it as they were busy with people out sick. Nice thing about living in an apartment, the service is free but you have to take your turn if it's not an emergency which this isn't.
