4. Uther by Jack Whyte
Very thick paperback, small print. The story of the life of Uther Pendragon, slightly different than the traditional Arthur legends. Merlyn isn't a sorcerer though by the end has had that label tagged on him for no apparent reason that i could see. Quite a decent read, really, lots of warfare and guts for the guys and a bit of romance for the women. Seems well written, lots of descriptions that i admit i glossed over sometimes but i wanted to get back to the plot. Takes place just after the Romans have left Britain. The descriptions are quite good though, and you could really picture the landscape and the people and the life. Don't know if i'll read more of Whytes books on the Arthur goings on but i may if i find them or if my stylist can get her hands on the other books she has.
Currently rereading Breath of Snow and Ashes by Diana Gabaldon in hardcover. Need something either thinner or smaller or both for the bus, though.
