Mar. 17th, 2012 07:02 pmGosh it was nice to be able to go out and about today on the bus! It turned out sunny with a cool breeze but spring is definitely at the end of the tunnel. I didn't end up looking at any laptops, i couldn't find one place i wanted to try and by the time i was on the way home, i didn't feel like getting off the bus at the other place. It's near work, though, so i could always check it out another time. I did decide to look for new sneakers and went to a specialist shop, The Running Room. The girl that served me really knew feet! She used to work in an orthotic clinic, she said, and she pointed out where my shoes were not working for me. I knew i needed new ones and i knew these really weren't feeling right. I always felt like i was walking flat, so to speak, rather than supported. I found a good pair of shoes and it cost me but here's hoping they'll do the trick. I have very unfortunately feet, with a bunion, collapsed arches, all kinds of mess. Maybe these shoes combined with my orthotics, will be better and my feet won't hurt too much. It's worth the cost if they work for my feet.
Also got some new cleanser for my face and went into David's Teas and got a couple of nice teas to try, one is a caramel rooibos and the other is a chocolate orange black tea. Both smell incredible! I also got some little bags that you can put your loose tea in, make your own teabags, so to speak, and they're compostable. It takes the faffing and mess away from using the tea balls and i can fit a bit more in them since i like my tea stronger or if i make it in a bigger cup, i need more loose tea, more than fits in a standard cup sized tea ball. Popped into Pete's Frootique, got some olive bread, some buns for sandwiches, and they had my fave Brit "cookie" (yes, i know you all call them biscuits!) chocolate hobnobs. They're usually $5.00 a roll and Pete's had them on sale for $3.00 so i got two packs. Yum!
As it's St. Paddy's day, there were lots of people wandering around, wearing bright green hats, ties, sparkly things and lots of green. It's going to be rowdy in the downtown area tonight and they've got a good head start on it already!
