Frustration
Jul. 14th, 2002 06:05 pmI've been going to a chiropractor for lower back and neck problems for four months. Things seemed to be coming along nicely and i was feeling pretty good until this weekend. I had massage therapy on Thursday after work and i'm usually a bit stiff and sore after that but it goes away. This time, by Saturday my lower back was sore again and i'm really discouraged. I really hoped i wouldn't have to put up with this again at least not so soon. Have been taking stuff for it and using ice packs and it's improving unless that's just the muscle relaxers and tylenol. It wasn't *really* bad but bad enough for me to stay put and rest all weekend. It's really got me down though. I'll have to go see the chiro tomorrow maybe even though i have an appt. on Wednesday morning. If it feels relatively ok tomorrow i may not. Just when i thought i had a handle on this too :((((
Stretching muscles
Also when you feel better, certain bits of yoga are good, and provide little movements you can fit into your day, if you have to sit at a screen, drive long distances or whatever.
Have you thought that sitting in the cinema, possibly on top of a day at work might have been the trigger?
Anyway good luck with chiropractor- what is his/her verdict?

Date: 2002-07-15 03:08 pm (UTC)I've never been an active person and i know i need to get back to walking more than i have been. I'm also a champion procrastinator :( Stretching exercises would probalby be a good idea. I had physiotherapy for awhile about 10 years ago but of course discontinued doing those exercises. I think stretching might be more enjoyable. would like to hear any suggestions. If you want to email me off the journal it's tvor @ accesswave . ca (take away the spaces of course) and I'm Diane :) so you'll know when you get an email back who it is.

Date: 2002-07-16 01:51 pm (UTC)Heard horrible tale of aqua this morning from Mum whose sixteen year old son, formerly sporty and fit has three calcifying discs in different parts of the spine, has been off school having home tuition for GCSE's for months, and getting told its partly psychological, as all teenagers want an excuse to lie in bed. Like I was told I was afraid of motherhood and was seeking excuses to get help with children...ANyway they won't operate till he's 50, and so he's stuck on painkillers waiting for therapy.
So count our blessings eh?

Feels like i've been bench pressing 500 pounds! I feel like my body is breaking down little by little! More muscle relaxers before bed tonight i think.
