tvordljIt's been as cold today as it's been most of the week, though it wasn't this bad yesterday, i have to say. And I'm talking -20 counting the "wind chill". Our weather varies so much though. We can have a few days of bitter temps and then it can pop back up to 0 or higher, especially if there's snow or, more likely, rain on the way which is what's supposed to happen tonight. They're calling it a "storm" so naturally, the traffic is madness and the groceries stores are heaving with people that are terrified they might run out of everything even though this "storm" will only last through tomorrow and we'll all be back on the road on Monday. Run out of milk? Ok, nip to the corner shop or a local drug store or gas station store for that. YOu don't need a week's worth of groceries. I was in the grocery store yesterday and it wasn't any busier than it usually is. Well, maybe it was Saturday busy but it was Friday afternoon. In any case today was much worse from what I could tell. I was visiting a friend and drove him down to the large Superstore in Sackville because they really were out of milk and he would pick up that and a couple other things, I think. They both smoke so he was going to pick up cigs to have in as well. That parking lot is enormous and as soon as someone pulled out of a parking spot, it was snapped up. Crazy.
I took Mom's car back today mainly because if the weather is yucky tomorrow, I might not get it to her and then it would be more difficult getting it back through the week because she finds it difficult to drive at night these days. I even offered to take the bus home today but she wouldn't hear of it, it was too cold. Well it was but if it meant she wouldn't have to drive too far just before it gets dark, i'd have done it anyway. The cold can't stop me if i have to go to work, after all.
Never mind. I got done what I wanted to with the car, loads of groceries because i was out of everything, and two visits as well. That's one of the main down sides to not having a car, I can't get out to visit people that I don't often see.
