Moving Day, nearly
Jan. 30th, 2015 09:45 amI was supposed to move my workstation spot on Monday. Didn't happen. The person I was switching with wasn't ready to go and she thought today would be better for her.
Now I'm all packed up, have moved my cabinet and most of my boxes. The phones are switched. Just waiting for her to come in, pack the rest of her stuff. I have moved my boxes into the empty spot next to her so that my space will be all but empty (barring the computer, do that at the last minute) so she can shift her stuff in.
Email this morning. She isn't in today. Monday afternoon will be better.
*sigh*
So I"m sitting in a workstation with bare walls, nothing but the unplugged phone and the computer bits, a pen, a notepad and a garbage can. At least I found the key to the cable that secures the laptop docking station.
Winter's here! Snow. Freezing Rain, Rain. All in the same day tomorrow apparently. Ah well. It is what it is. We had a snow day on Tuesday because the forecast was pretty dire. It didn't end up as bad as they predicted but the driving was pretty bad in part. At least it kept the roads mainly clear so the snow removal crews could do their work better. If they won't let us work from home, and it's going to be bad enough to send us home part way through the day, adding to stress of getting home through traffic and worry that the busses will be pulled off the road if it's bad enough, then closing the offices is much better. Everyone else closes theirs before we ever do. The schools close at the drop of a flake and have even been known to close at a forecast even if there's no definitive action happening. I have got to the point where i'd just rather take a vacation day than take the chance of getting stranded. I have enough time that i can do that.
