So America elected Boris and Natasha to the White House.
Difficult to get my head around it all. Shouldn't really be surprised that they wouldn't elect a woman no matter what.
Not going to go on a rant about it. It's not my country and I thank every god and goddess there is that I live in Canada, a relatively progressive, accepting, respected and safe country.
Also. My microwave is buggered. The door won't open. At least it didn't break with cooked food inside it. It's the kind with the door catch you release with a press of a button. I'd noticed it was getting a bit sticky over the past few weeks and last night it wouldn't open at all. New microwave time, I guess and I'm going to try to get the kind that has an actual door handle. Don't need an expensive one. Blows my mind that you see them for 500 - 700 dollars still. Very few people use them for more than reheating, or things like boiling water, cooking up frozen veg, quick-cooking an egg, pizza or a baked potato, stuff like that. Roasts? Chickens? Full size casseroles? Not that many people do that in them, some do, of course. But they're the minority. I remember when they first came out in the 80s and were huge boxes and cost about 500$ for a basic model. Crazy. I didn't want one back then but I can't imagine being without one now.
I guess I'll give mom a call to see if we can borrow the car this weekend to get one and get loaded up at the meat store and Costco. Have a few other errands to do as well. Since we have it, might go see a movie as well. G.'s been itching to see Doctor Strange.
