Love the Mailman!
Aug. 6th, 2003 05:20 pmWahey! Great mail day! Got a notice from the post office yesterday and i picked it up today. It was the trio of coffee mugs i bought via eBay, two with a Coronation STreet theme (the pub and Alf's corner store) and one with Eastenders (The Queen Vic pub). Only the handle on one was broken off. :( I think i can glue it back on as it did come off in one piece.
Got home and my mailbox was stuffed with .... the dress!!!! Wow both things got here within just over a week, one from the UK and one from India! Yet a CD that Chris sent me never has arrived. We figure it must have gone walkabout because even if it hadn't come air mail it should have been here by now. And he doesn't put return addresses on his packages. Bad boy!
I tried on the dress... it's definitely too long which is the first time anything i've ever bought was too long LOL The colour is definitely more gray than off white so i'm not all that sure it's really my colour but it fits. I am going to have to hem it though because even if i wore my boots with little heels it would be to the floor. I think i'll take it up to ankle length. Maybe the sleeves could come up a little too i don't know. Or they're wide enough i could roll them up a little. Material seems nice, not too flimsy either.
And the power bill was in the mail too! *reality check* I didn't use *that* much power did i? Oh hell i misread it... i thought i used less kilowatts per hour than the same period last year but it was *more*. And more than on my last bill. This bill was almost as much as the one i paid over the Christmas mid winter period. What on earth did i use that is using up more power? i don't cook much. Dunno. *shrug* it's not as if it's a horrendous bill. Living in an apartment and not having my own washer or dryer or electric heat (use hotwater baseboard heating) i don't have much of a bill really. Two months bill was only 80 with taxes included, it's just that it's usually about 65 or 70.

Date: 2003-08-07 04:02 am (UTC)I'm on a budget thingie too (I don't think I could manage the Power Bill otherwise !)
You know what I did (talk about being anally organized..) I divided my monthly power amount by 2 and started paying it every paycheque, makes it kinda more manageable !
