On the road again
Aug. 26th, 2003 08:31 pmor rather... in the air again!
Woohoo i just got off the phone from Aeroplan to book my free ticket. Go west young woman! Even though it's "free" you still pay some of the taxes. Not all of them as i found out too :) I thought i'd be paying a heap of taxes and it only added up to $53.29! *and* that's flying business class cause i had a bucket load of points. It was however very tempting because i actually had enough to fly to Europe economy class!!! But... no... i promised myself a luxurious trip and business class to Victoria it is. Except the last leg from Calgary to Victoria isn't business class cause i don't think they have planes that do it on that route. No matter, that's a short flight anyway, barely up and you're descending again, it's only a half hour flight and the flight from Halifax to Calgary is non stop woohoo! coming back i go from Vancouver to Calgary and Calgary straight through to Halifax all business class as well.
I sent emails off to my aunt and uncle in Victoria to see if it's convenient to visit them and one to my cousin in Vancouver for same. If it isn't i'll sort something else out. I have a place to stay in parksville on the island for a few days so could extend that a couple of days and if Vancouver is a problem for my cousin, i'll treat myself to a hotel! I will anyway probably, one or two nights. One for sure as i'll have and early flight out returning home. Much easier to get an airport hotel that has a free early shuttle to the airport than inconveniencing someone to get up at some God awful hour of the morning and drive you there.
I *love* traveling :)

Date: 2003-08-27 04:01 am (UTC)I'm so jealous! There are so many people back on the island I'd LOVE to see in person again...
While you are in Victoria, you should see if Ang can take the ferry over from Seattle... :-)
