Two of my latest downloads... music by Lucinda Williams... she's got a fabulous voice, semi country but better than "new" country, she can sound very traditional which i like. (yeah yeah, C, i know you probably told me about her before. Why didn't you insist? lol) The other band i did some downloading on was Nine Inch Nails. Totally opposite LOL

You should pick up Lucinda's "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road" album. It's an awesome piece of work. See, I TOLD you you'd like her voice! Have you heard the song "Greenville" yet? I love that, it's definitely more on the 'traditional' country side of things. It's off of "Car Wheels.." which, as I said already, you REALLY need to buy. Damnit.
And when are you gonna pick up NIN's "And All That Could Have Been"? Don't tell me you don't want it. :)

If i get out today i may just do that, both of them. One of the guys at work had Car Wheels i think and i listened to the first bit of the first track. I d/l Greenville before and i think i wasn't overly impressed by it which is why i didn't persue it further when you mentioned it to be then. Maybe it was the state of mind i was in or something. I have live versions of Car Wheel, The Way you move and also Drunken Angel. Does she have a live cd? There's one of her songs that i d/l that was endless... all the same lyrics and every line sounded exactly the same. All the words ended in "ly" but i forget the title of it cause i deleted it LOL Tedious. I kept wondering when the monotony was going to change. One Night Stand is fun, a real old fashioned country song. I also have a duet by her and John Prine called Wedding Bells that's pretty good. We must talk...

Apparently most of the NIN songs i d/l were from that cd (but they also do a kicking cover of a Queen song, Get Down Make Love). I tried a couple more and didn't care for them so they may have been on that cd too but i forget which ones they were. At the moment the ones i have are Sin, Hurt, Wish, Terrible Lie, March of the Pigs, and the above Queen cover. I have Head Like a Hole somewhere else on a burned cd too and i like it. Did you tell me that this was a live cd? I forgot if you did.

Yeah, we need to do some song trading I think. :) I'd like to hear "Wedding Bells" and "Get Down Make Love" for sure.
Glad to hear you bought the CDs, btw, both very wise purchases!
BTW, if you haven't already, you HAVE to hear Johnny Cash's cover version of "Hurt" - it's much better than the original, a very stirring rendition... actually, his new album, "The Man Comes Around" is a killer too. A little on the wrist-slitting side of "depressing" but a very powerful listen.
