Dec. 9th, 2002 03:50 pmNot a lot of fallout about the boss leaving, no new news anyway that i've heard. One man speculates that he could have taken retirement as he had his time in but another says there are still kids in university so tuition bills continue to loom. I figure he did get another job as he's not really old enough to retire completely i wouldn't think. Only in his.. maybe early to mid 50's. Some don't think he'll show for the office party next week. *** update apparently he's taken the retirement package ****
I mailed my Christmas cards this morning. I can't find the ones i wrote that get hand delivered yet i know i wrote them up. I must look in the bag where the "raw" cards are. Maybe i stuck them in there. Tree has lights on. Looks nice. Now need to decorate. Still no pressies wrapped. My annual lunch with me Dad is Friday. I always help him shop for my mother's presents and my personal shopping services are awarded a lunch out.
Friday after work there's a get together organized for employees of the former City of Halifax. There should be a good turn out i hear. Hoping to connect with some ex employees and retirees. (just some background, the former cities of Halifax, Dartmouth, Town of Bedford and Halifax county amalgamated in 1996, municipal employees and services merged. Many took retirement or payouts, some were laid off or just left over the years.)]
What else is up and coming this week... hair appointment tomorrow for a trim, chiropractor Wednesday morning, my cousin and her husband are visiting so will meet up with them on Thursday. Was invited to a tree trimmin party on Saturday night. don't know if i'm going yet, need transportation.
