I've got a "scan" today on my back. It's something the chiro does every couple of months to guage progress or lack thereof. And naturally, though my back was feeling great yesterday, it's a bit creaky today because of the gym last night. I did debate not going but i'm really trying not to make excuses. I make enough of them as it is. Perhaps it will loosen itself up a bit by noon when i go. It's not painful, just tight.

The scan checks muscle activity and nerve activity. So even if the muscle activity shows hurt, maybe the nerve activity will show improvement.

The gym wasn't even that enjoyable mostly. Monday's are soooo crowded. I thought if i went down for about 7 the worst of the crowd would be thinned out but it was packed. I did manage to get a treadmill but couldn't get near the machines. I don't like being rushed and when it's busy you can only really do one set and move on when people are waiting. Fair enough but i just don't find i get the same benefits. I mucked around with the free weights instead for a little while and then went home. Not really concerned, the cardio is what i'm more concerned with anyway and i got that.

The numbers of students suspended has gone down a bit. The numbers hover about 4%. What amuses and baffles me, however, is, aside from the usual reasons like disruptive behaviour and violence, the fact that one school suspended 28 kids for chronic attendance problems. HUH? How is suspending a kid who likes to stay away from school going to be a corrective disciplinary measure? Yeesh!

LJ is being a pain in the ass tonight so if this is duplicated or tripled, hang tight. it wouldn't let me delete a duplicate earlier and now this post is gone altogether. Anyway....

I got home late tonight. My friend was taken to the emergency dept. yesterday morning about 10:30. Long story so won't go into the details. She didn't get to see someone until about 9 last night. Didn't get the word that they want to admit her until about 11. But they had no bed for her in a room. She did manage to get a bed in the Emerg. "holding" area. They're pretty sure what's wrong is her thyroid is wayyyy out of whack. She's been on meds, her doctor reduced them drastically and i think it's been building ever since, added on to that the worry about something being wrong. Add to that the suggestion that she might have MS now she's in anxiety attack mode. Anyway, she feels better knowing it's probably thyroid. I went up after work and she *still* wasn't in a room though will be later tonight. Shouldn't be in the hospital more than a couple of days, they need to regulate her electrolytes, calcium, potassium and things like that and probably get her sorted out back on the proper level of thyroid meds.

Season two of Six Feet Under starts airing tonight! Yay!!!! Tape installed and vcr programmed. they're showing two a week for at least the month of March, probably in April too because they're advertising Season 2 and 3.
