At the Dark End Of the Street
Mar. 19th, 2005 12:00 amJust got back from seeing the Committments at the Casino and what a great show it was!! We really enjoyed the music and the show. The lead singer was a different one from the one that we saw the last time a few years ago but i liked this guy much better. He had an excellent voice but it wasn't as "polished" and he had great personality, chatting and making jokes a lot more than the guy last time. The drummer and the lead guitar player were in the band in the movie in 1991 but none of the rest were in the movie. The two women singing were good but the brass drowned them out a bit. We weren't too long jumping up and going down front by the stage to dance and i got some good photos (Photos here). I like taking photos without the flash as well as with. Without you get movement and blur and a sense of the lights and action and colour. We got someone else who was dancing to take a photo of the three of us for posterity too.
Jo and i had a nice meal at TGIFRidays and Tracey met us in the venue later. Both of them really enjoyed and needed a night out, Tracey said she hadn't gone out and danced since before she had her baby over a year ago and Jo's life lately, in addition to juggling kids and lodgers, has included major home decorating (new floors, painting, carpets) in preparation for selling the house.

( And a couple more )
