tvordlj: (Rooster on the go)
My tri-weekly (what's the word for once every three weeks?) Earned Day Off but i still had to get up early. I had a routine doc's appt. at 10:30 and i thought i should go in earlier to the hospital blood clinic to get my routine bloodwork done. I had to fast which is why i had to go in the morning rather than after work like usual and what with one thing and another on my mind over the last few months, i hadn't got round to doing it before now. Only i walked into the blood clinic and just about every seat was taken! Gah! I'd never get out of there in time so i walked back out, went to the cafe in the building next door where the doctor's office is and had breakfast! The nuisance is that although the appointment is for 10:30, i knew i wouldn't get in on time, she's always late. Check. 11:15 when i got into the office. She's very good, thorough, doesn't rush you but that means she doesn't rush anyone else either! rarely have i got in within 10 minutes of the appointment unless i book the first one after lunch.

No matter. I didn't ask what my blood pressure was but she didn't holler at me so it must have been acceptable.

From there to the gym. Nice not to have to rush. Mind you i don't *have* to rush when i go after work but it's the end of a long day and i just want to get home. No crowds in the daytime. You can spend extra time on the treadmill or the workout machines if you want. Nobody is waiting for you to finish. And there's no wait time for them either.

I got home and after about an hour i was ready for a nap! Something i rarely do.

Tracey's coming over later to borrow some jewelry, an evening bag and maybe shoes for the Juno awards. She's a seat filler volunteer, i think i mentioned that didn't i? She's not dressing up fancy but wants some funkier jewelry to go with her outfit. I have a couple of things in mind that might work.

No plans for the rest of the weekend. I do want to see V for Vendetta so i might do that and i might go to the blood collecting clinic that Shopper's Drug Mart is having tomorrow but that's not until 10 and i'd have to fast again. Hm... might wait until one morning next week and do it really early at the hospital before i go to work. The Dartmouth General, where i went today... that was the first time i'd been back in it since Dad died. It was a bit off putting but it didn't bother me. It was just a little... surreal. I just kept my eyes down and didn't look at the elevators and headed straight past them down to the lab. No way i was going to have breakfast in the hospital cafeteria though.

The superintendant just came over to try another new set of taps for the kitchen and this time the screws weren't right for my fittings so he's had to go back and dig through a box of them. I expect he'll be back. He's a funny little guy, slight build, got a face like one of them wrinkled up apple dolls. Perfect for the Red Green motto "If women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy!" Nice guy though.

That's it from me.
Keep your stick on the ice!
