Happy Canada Day

Mom and i had a really nice weekend. We left yesterday morning to drive down the South Shore with the ultimate destination of visiting my aunt and uncle at their cottage in Lake Ponhook, in Queens County. We stopped in a restaurant on Highway 3 though Chester called the Windjammer. It's been there donkey's years and has really good food. I had a cup of seafood chowder that was packed with fish, shrimp, scallops and lobster, doused in cream and not a potato in the bowl. Bliss! We also shared a strawberry milkshake! the afternoon and evening were spent visiting with Aunt Bonnie, Uncle Keith, another couple they have known for years (Bill and Cheryl and their black lab Cleo), my cousin Sharon and husband Bill and his sister Dorothy who have the cottage next door but one, and also some of Sharon's lovely homemade wine. :) The birds were fluttering back and forth between all the bird feeders, the food was good, company great and the weather was sunny but cool so it was comfortable to sleep last night.
