Aug. 9th, 2009 04:59 pmIt's been a lovely weekend. Beautiful sunny days, hot but not unbearably so and with almost no humidity. A nice little breeze just when you need it and cool at night for sleeping. Most of it i've been inside, unfortunately though did sit out in the sun yesterday afternoon at the barbeque i went to with my Corrie committee mates. We had a really lovely afternoon and evening. Earlier was the meeting and today was the ping (I won a lovely large canvas Corrie bag in the raffle! I've been coveting that for ages!) and a visit to Chapters with my mom and auntie and now Ferris Bueller is starting ("Bueller... Bueller.... Bueller....". It doesn't get any better! Don't know what i'll do next weekend. Something tells me there was something but it'll come to me. Or not. I do know the world canoe races are on at one of the local lakes and i could go down and watch that for a bit if it's nice.
There's the Busker festival on but i generally avoid that. Don't like the throngs of people standing watching and blocking up the flow of people-traffic and i cant' stand the acts begging for money after they finish. It's not that i don't think i should toss some money in the hat or bucket but when they nag people or suggest how much should be donated? I dig my heels in and find that very annoying. A few of the entertainers will say they appreciate whatever you can give and if you can't or don't give, they hope you enjoyed the show. There are fewer and fewer of those these days it seems.
Going to dinner with a friend tomorrow night for her belated birthday.
