Sep. 1st, 2009 08:45 amAm getting a cold. Figures. Probably caught it when i went to the movies over the weekend, although the theatres weren't crowded but when you're out and around the public, germs happen. "When Pigs fly" takes on a whole new meaning! Let's hope it doesn't turn out to be the flu. Coincidentally, this morning's email at work had a message that you no longer have to isolate yourself for 7 days if you get piggy flu though they recommend you stay home anyway until you feel better, and the flu generally runs it's course over 5 - 7 days. I'll probably get the worst of the cold/whatever just in time for our long weekend coming up.
I'm handing over that painting today to the lady from the provincial government for their silent auction, after lunch i think. I'm curious to find out if it's a public auction/function or if it's for the government employees. We here at work have a United Way launch rally thing in October or November where there's a silent auction. Last year, the theme for our 'do was a County Fair and they had carnival games where you paid for tickets and played. I don't know what this year's theme is going to be yet.
Can you believe it's September already? and it's 58 sleeps until Graham arrives!!! W00t!
There are some advantages to turning 50. I got my tennant's insurance renewal and i apparently now qualify for a "mature ... something" discount so my monthly payments have gone down a couple of dollars. And my power bill has gone up a couple of dollars so it's all evened out. I can't really complain though, my power bill is only $37 a month. I don't have electric heat and that does make a difference in the bill.
