I've found some winter boots, i hope. I went to the Sears store but they really didn't have a lot there that would suit me. I had a look through the various catalogues, though and found a couple of pairs that i liked and both were on sale. Typical though the colours i wanted were out of stock but i could get the all black versions. One is back ordered so it might be a little longer if it shows up at all. I ordered two because i figured one at least would be ok and i'll return the other one. There's these ones, but all black though i wanted the red ones, and these ones, in black though i wanted the brown ones. I looked online and my size isn't available in those in the preferred colours either. If i can get some that fit, i'm happy. Price is right too. When i got the order in, they turned out to be even cheaper than listed in the sale catalogue. Sears was having a lot of sales this weekend.

Popped over to Sobeys and got some groceries there and took a cab home and i'm in for the evening. If i manage to get my act in gear at a reasonable time tomorrow I may head to the Alderney Gate Market where they're holding a "Christkindlemarket", a Christmas market of sorts apparently. It's on both days so i might take a run down and see what's there. It won't be on the scale of the big markets in Halifax but there might be some nice things.

Oooh and i found something awesome at Sobey's. For a limited time, they are selling ice cream that is the flavour of chicken bones and don't all go ewwwwww because what I'm referring to is the classic candy that Ganong's makes and sells at Christmas time. It's a little pink cinnamon flavoured candy shell with a dollop of chocolate in side and they are standards around here this time of year. Warning though, if you eat a whole bag, even a small one? Your tongue will bleed! Just saying ;) The ice cream is pink and has that cinnamony flavour and it's got crunchy chocolate bits in it AND it doesn't make your tongue bleed! Bliss!

I made some squares for a bake sale today at work and they went over well. Easy peasy recipe too, you melt 4 mars bars, the full size ones not the "slim" ones, with a half cup of butter or margarine, then dump it over 2 or 3 cups of rice crispies cereal. Press into a greased square pan, (i lined it with parchment paper and that worked ok too) and then melt a cup of chocolate chips with 2 tablespoons of butter and smooth it over. Cut into squares before putting in the fridge or it might to be too hard to get the knife through. Really good!! You can double it as well. I melted the chocolate bars and the chocolate in the double boiler to make sure it melted smoothly and not burn.
