Meme day 8
Feb. 16th, 2015 05:08 pmYesterday's about memories, of course if we'd already had our wedding, that would have been on the list :))
Today is day 8
Day 8 - Three words you can’t go a day without
1. F*#$^ Yes i swear. Variations on that one are my word of choice. I don't use it in general conversation but in times of frustration, impatience (there's a lot of that!), surprise, etc. Mostly I say it to myself or when on my own or under my breath.
2. Tea. Please :)
3. Thank you (ok two words. )
Yesterday's weather was one hot mess. The freezing rain made a skating rink out of everything. There's still ice on my screen door and the main doors/windows in the building lobby are still frosted over. The bus stop is blocked in with big boulders of ice. I can't imagine that will get cleared out any time soon. The building owners contract out snow clearance etc. and they do a piss poor job. Should be tricky getting out to the road tomorrow morning for the bus. At least there's not a lot of snow on the walkways and sidewalks, with a coating of slippery over top of what's there. Fucking hate winter.
Got my eye on a new PC. The guy that was looking at my old one has said it's definitely cooked though it's not the hard drive so he can transfer the data to a new machine and when i get the beastie, he'll set it all up fro me. The one I'm looking at is at Staples and my sister works for them so can get 10% off technology. Saves a bit of the tax at least.
Mom's 80th birthday is tomorrow. Hard to believe. Dad always used to say he wouldn't feel old until he was 80. He didn't get much past 70. Mom is still healthy though slowing down a bit. She's going to sell the house in the fall and move either into an apartment or to an assisted living facility though those are pretty pricey so maybe not that. The only thing she really finds difficult is the vaccuum cleaner and getting groceries. There are enough of us that we can help out there. We're taking her to brunch next weekend, would have been yesterday but for the weather.
Going to see Bryan Adams in concert on Wednesday night. That should be good!
