(no subject)

October tomorrow. How did that happen? Actually this is my favourite time of year, usually nice weather, not too warm, with crisp sunshine. Except for the tropical storm watch and hurricanes. Tis hurricane season and we often will get at least the tail end of one. I think the deluge is about to hit tonight and over the next couple of days so that's probably a named storm whipping by off shore. We've just past the anniversary of the last hurricane that hit us directly, Hurricane Juan, in 2003, Sept. 29 I think it was. It wasn't as bad as the ones they get in Florida or elsewhere in the South but it was pretty bad for what we're used to. A few months later, we had a blizzard that shut the city down for just as many days and has gone down in local lore as "White Juan".

I've decided to take Fridays off in December. I have a few holidays left and they like us to use them all up though we can carry over 5 to the next year. I carried over two into this  year which is why I guess i have 4 left instead of 1 or 2. Oh why not? three day weekends all of December? Yes please. If i haven't got all my shopping done, that's the best time, in the daytime rather than weekends.
