My friend Tracey was over last night and told me this: She has a coworker that works days, her sig. other works nights. They have a 7 month old baby so this works well for sharing child care duties. He calls her at work the other day and declares the baby's hair is too long and he's going to shave it off... and he does.... with a razor.

What the fuck is this man doing with children?????

Gulp!!!! What kind of razor?
I suppose at least he rang first.....But he must be suffering from sleep deprivation, which will only get worse as the baby gets older.

He's insufferable allright! Don't know what kind of razor, most likely a normal shaving kind, disposable or the two blade safety kind. I think he suffers from far more than sleep deprivation.

Well you know far more about him, but anyway the sleep deprivation can only make things worse. Bites lip.

Oh absolutely it does. My mother says that's why God/dess makes babies so cute... so you don't actually kill them when you haven't had sleep in 16 days!!! ;)

Re Sweeny Dad- and as the child starts to sleep less in the day and more at night, this makes things worse for a Day-carer on Nightshift....

Re effect of babies- you are so right. My Grandmother had lost two babies, one while she was expecting my mother, and she had a heart condition so they kept telling her no more babies after each confinement; and still she got so desperate with my mother screaming that she threw her down on a sofa.
This is all before WWI, of course.
