Yes as everyone else has mentioned, Chris Reeves has died. His injuries after that fall should have killed him then. His amazing will to live has given him quite a few more years and he has admirably made the most of them. "Good night sweet prince, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest...."

The Canadian Navy has bought 4 used submarines from the British Navy and has had nothing but trouble with them since. Last week, the fourth of them left Scotland on the way home and a fire on board ended with one man died and two with smoke inhalation serious enough to fly them to a hospital in Sligo, Ireland. The ship listed in the high seas and several Royal Navy vessels came to help. The Chicoutami has been towed into dock in Scotland and there will be in inquiry. The body of the sailor was flown home yesterday. The smoke inhalation apparently caused a heart attack in a young fit man. There will be in inquiry. Have we been sold a bill of goods by the Royal Navy? Both Navys swear that the subs were fit to sail though every one of them has had problems and a few near misses.

So now they think GWB was prompted in the debates by wearing a remote device. Photo here. Conspiracy theory anyone? I wouldn't put it past him but i don't think it's likely though that photo looks odd. His tailor says it's just a bulge in the fabric. I says... get a new tailor. There looks like a wire or cable going over his shoulder too. A comment i read on the blog isbushwired.com suggest the explanation/spin will be that his is indeed wired in case any national security thing happens and he can respond immediately. *shrug* or should that be *Shrub* ;o) Check out this vote site that hypothetically gives people in other countries a vote. Dunno how accurate that really is. It let me vote twice so it's not checking cookies. It's still interesting though.

GWB's remote device - I watched a little bit of the debate live, and I noticed that and the "wire" and wondered the same thing. He didn't seem to stumble and bumble and search for words as much as he did in the first debate...who knows? *shrug*.

But then again, my maiden name was Thomas, as in "Doubting" ;-)

It is either the back up, wireless mike "battery/receiver/sender" pack or the actual mke used for the debate and the desk mike one was the back up. There are always two systems in case one fails. Kerry probably had one too but it wasn't as noticeable.

That's probably the most logical explanation though it looked odd since he was using a microphone on his feet.
