Snow Day. Again.

Ah i shouldn't complain really. I'd rather there be a snowstorm on a weekend. I can sit here in flannel jammies and watch it from my warm apartment. It didn't start until mid afternoon but i had done all my shopping yesterday so there was no need to go out. Dad picked me up and took me to Blockbuster so i could pick up a couple of movies and then to the grocery store. Over to Mom's for roast beast. mmmmmmmmm!

Blockbuster was cheap too. I had coupons from last year when i cashed in some Air Miles (that blue and white Air Miles card, not Air Canada Aeroplan) so i got two of them for free. Actually one of the two i went for they didn't have. I thought i'd give the Japanese film, Hanna Bi a try, the one that naturalbornkaos and a few others have raved about in the past. Blockbuster didn't have it. Don't know where i would get it around here. There used to be a couple of really good video stores that would have something like that but they are out of the way even if they're still in business. I got the other one i wanted, Stage Beauty and i got Ray. I don't even know when they have to be back since there are no late fees now though if you still have them after a month, they'll charge you with the full cost and you've then bought them. I'll take them back after work on Monday.

Stage Beauty is about Edward Kynaston (played by the lovely Billy Crudup) who was a real actor, quite famous in the the late 17th century when all the female parts were still played by men. It's not a factual movie, just based on the man who had spent most of his life perfecting being a woman on stage. His dresser, a woman named Mariah played by Clare Danes, wants to be an actress but she's not very good. After it's discovered that she was performing in a back street theatre, the King, Charles II, decides that women will now be allowed on stage. This ruins Edward's career for a time. The movie is about his struggle and Mariah's and how they help each other. I like costume movies like this. And even though it's based on real people, the story isn't true so i don't get bothered about historical inaccuracies. Rupert Everett plays the King and there's a few other good actors in it as well, Tom Wilkinson, Edward Fox for two.

I'll save Ray for tomorrow i think.

regarding blockbuster...I think, once they charge you and you return it?You'll be charged a small processing fee and refunded the money of the whole video

Im leaving tuesday morning....not on jetsgo..
BUT I was THAT close to booking on jetsgo for our trip to Calgary this summer...We ended up going with canjet.
I heard, tho, that if people booked with visa or mastercard, theyre going to give back their money...cash or cheque tickets wont be honored.
doesnt help the ones going anywhere soon or people stuck places, I spose..

yes, i think most credit cards will refund under these circumstances, even the non-gold cards
