Dreary weather outside. I cooked up a lasagna and some spaghetti sauce for the freezer for when gramie_dee gets here, cleaned the bathroom and did the dishes. I had a lie in this morning because i took a book to bed and couldn't go to sleep until i'd finished it, doggedly reading, and blinking with my eyes out on stalks until i'd finished it. It was a new paperback by Marian Keyes, called "The Other Side of the Story" and i do like her books. It wasn't so much of a page turner but i was just stubbornly determined to finish it lol

Got a new dvd delivered the other day, one of my favourite Alan Rickman movies, An Awfully Big Adventure :) I can play it on the computer and i feel some screen captures coming on :) Another good movie coming out, Kingdom of Heaven about defending Jerusalem from Saladin and his lot. Historically rubbish i would imagine and they chucked in a love story (commoner falls for forbidden queen pah!) but it's got knights and swords and looks like a good yarn at least. That starts next weekend, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy has started this weekend. Have heard good and bad about that but it looks like fun.

Yes Kingdom Of Heaven sounds like it'll be good, who cares if it's historically accurate or not? lol. I wanna see it anyway.

One thing I can't get my head round re: Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy is that the character of Ford Prefect now seems to be a Gangsta Rapper. Not that there's anything wrong there but I just have this extremely British view on what Hitchhiker's should be, probably because I'm used to the old version.

Gangsta rapper? lol i dohn't think so ... just an out of work actor and they used a black actor to give the movie some diversity. Besides, if you're updating the story a little, it's entirely plausible isn't it?

As I said, there's nothing wrong with it, it is an updated version. I'm just saying that I'm so used to the original version that it comes as a bit of a wrench to find that Ford Prefect isn't the very british guy in a striped blazer that he was in the first case. ;)
