Slang is interesting isn't it? One word can mean different things in different cultures. This quiz/meme had a few things that i didn't know at all and a couple of questions where i would have put in a word that wasn't one of the choices at all so i just guessed or picked a likely candidate. There were two that were obviously Canadian references but they aren't slang, they're "pop" culture i guess you could say. I wouldn't say "timbit" was slang, it's the actual product name and "double double" ... is a short cut way of saying something really what you would term "slang"? Some of those have transcended into such common use that they've become proper terms i.e. "P.C." for your computer

Slang... idioms, derogatory terms, abbreviations, nicknames, and some of them are quite inventive. What are some of your favourite slang words for things? I'm quite fond of "Knickers" and of course the ever-Canadian "Buddy" that you use when referring to someone you don't know (but not necessarily talking *to* a stranger, but about one). i.e. Buddy driving the bus says to me...

Not sure if that quiz is too accurate in my case because most of the words didn't show the Brit meanings or I'd never heard them before. One of my fav slang words is "Slapper" lol.

Wasn't Flapper another one? From the 20's I think.

Flapper wasn't the same meaning as slapper though. It wasn't a negative word. I think it had something to do with the dance the Charleston where their arms were waving and flapping about. Therefore Flappers were party girls but not necessarily slappers. I think Trollop or Strumpet would have been the approximate equivalent of Slapper then.

Well I just knew it was a word used back then. Probably Harlot or Jezebel would have been good Slapper alternatives then too lol.
