One last update

Dad had the cat scan and the next thing i know, i get a call from my sister saying they are taking him to the hospital in Halifax to consult with the neurosurgeon (the assistant or resident as it turned out) because he had a small bit of bleeding. Laurie picked me up and we went over to the Emerg and waited. Doctor saw him after about an hour and gave him a very thorough going over and consulted with the surgeon who checked all the records by computer at home. They said he wouldn't need any surgery of any kind and could *go home*!!! Basically he's concussed and there's a small fracture in a bone at the back of his head which is what caused the miniscule bleeding. He's wobbly and dizzy in spells but will be ok. He's absolutely exhausted tonight too, as you would expect. I'm staying over at Mom's as we didn't get back until about 1. Anyway things look ok at this point so we'll sleep a little easy tonight. Except Mom who's got to wake him up a couple of times overnight just to make sure he's responsive.

However crap he was feeling though, he was clearing his throat and making noise in the car on the way home. Now he always says he's tough as a boiled owl so i said, is that the sound boiled owls make? He said, Oh you're a hoot! Our Dad is still in there! :)

He's like me, the sense of humor is the last to go. Great way to be!
Glad he's feeling better. Make sure you tie him in the chair when garbage day comes around. haha
