Oh my god, I'd totally missed this post yesterday.

Hon, I'm so sorry, but I'm glad it was peaceful, and that the suffering is over. When my Granpda died it was so sad and awful, but at least he was finally free of the body that was causing him so much pain.

I must have missed this when you posted it - I'm sorry, I often end up skimming my friends page when reading at work.

I'm so so sorry for your loss, but relieved that your dad's suffering is over, and reserving a little of that relief for you too. Watching someone one loves die is the hardest thing one ever has to do, I think.
