Anyone watching Rockstar Supernova?
Anyone think they *all* sound the same?
None of them can hold a tune in a bucket.
Most of the shriek and scream and flail about on the stage in an effort to "ramp it up" .
And the rock star judges? They like everyone pretty much. Hardly any harsh words when some of them very justly deserve it.
"You can't effing sing!"
*sigh*

Yes, I'm watching it. Have watched it since week one because I LOVED Rockstar INXS last year. It's different this time around, and the Supernova guys aren't as helpful to the contestants as they could be, I agree. I am perplexed by their selection process. But I do enjoy the show, and I'll watch it until the end. :)

I haven't ever watched any of the Idol shows or last year's Rockstar and i keep forgetting to see the various shows. I saw the half hour "in the house" show a few weeks ago and ... never again. I hate those parts because they're all whiny and whingey and backbitey which is why i hate reality shows. The performance show... i thought was last night but it was the elimination one instead so they keep changing it on the schedule? I just find that they are all so shouty and screechy so much of the time. A couple of the men aren't bad but most of the women leave me cold and shuddering.

I am actually blown away by several of the women this year. Dilana (with the multicolored hair, piercings and tattoos) puts chills up and down my spine every single time she sings. I love her performances and can totally see her fronting that band. Same with the Canadian guy, Lukas, although her diction is better than his. ;-) Storm Large from Portland Oregon has powerful pipes too.

I happened to notice last night in the closing credits that the decision on who is going is a collaboratative effort between the Supernova guys AND the producers of the show. Hah - that explains why a few of them are still around. Drama=good TV.

I think Dana was the really awful one (i think, or else it was Zayra), one of the dark haired women just could not sing rock and keep it on key.

I wish Zayra had been booted the first week - she's no more suitable to front a rock band than I am. :D But she's controversial, bordering on rude, wears sexy(?) or at least tight, revealing outfits and mouths off at the band so I suppose that makes for good TV.

Dayna had a nice voice but didn't look the part to me. She looked like she should be the lead singer of a church choir :)

She might have had a good voice if she was singing country or ballads maybe. I agree she certainly didn't look the part. Was Zayra the one they slated for trying too hard to look sexy and not hard enough on her singing? Or was that the chick that got turfed last night? The blonde...

Zayra is the one with long dark straight hair who wears sleazy, tight outfits every week. This week for her performance she work a tight gold lame cat suit, huge platforms and a top hat. She sang David Bowie.

She has also looked like someone from Star Trek, and like a semi-naked vampire bat among other things. Her wardrobe mantra seems to be "less is more". She also can't stay in tune.

The one who got turfed was Jill. She probably should have gone weeks ago. Very loud and screechy every week.

Zayra is the one i am thinking off then, that really really can't sing on key. How she ever passed the initial audition i don't know. Oh wait. sleazy outfits. That's how :S

Are we watching the same show??? Do you watch the crappy Idol shows?? The talent on this show outstrips any of the others. Did not Lukas give you goosebumps with his version of "Creep". Am I insane?? The only one that really flails was knocked out tonight. Who do you think (outside of this show) can sing??

Werry werry odd... I'm loving it this year. (Yes, I watched last year, and yes I saw INXS here in Halifax).

I didn't watch any of the idol shows, i didn't watch the INXS one last year. I didn't see the performance show last night, i thought it was Wed. and Thursday so they must keep shifting it around damn them. Lukas isn't too bad when he's not trying to make his voice do funny things and going all emo. Most of the chicks are just bad bad bad. There's one dark haired one, the cute one i think, who is really off key all the time. There's one other guy that is pretty good but i forget who it is and i didn't see it the other night to remember. I think since i only saw the elimination night anyway, i got the worst of it lol but for some reason a lot of them seem to be screamy and shreiky and off key.

It's always been Tuesday at 9pm (performance) and Wed at 8pm (elimination).

I also preferred last year (INXS), but maybe that was because INXS was an actual BAND with their own music...this Supernova thing is a bit anticlimactic, as they can really pick anyone they want because they don't really have a "sound" yet.

I do think there is talent there though...

Supernova really is a one off band. I expect there will be one cd, one tour maybe and that will be it but the new singer at least will make contacts and get known. Inxs was already established more or less (since Hutchence died, of course, they hadn't done too much. Nice thing there, though i didn't watch it, is JD Fortune is from here!)

I think she's been the same one that dresses in sleazy costumes every week. Not sure though.
