Looking back, every time we've gone to a movie while [livejournal.com profile] gramie_dee has been here, including last visit, it's been raining. It rained again today. We went to see 300, the movie based on a graphic novel about the Spartans fighthing the Persians. About an hour and 20 minutes into the movie, it stopped suddenly and the emergency lights came on. Power cut. We were asked to sit tight for a bit and turned out that a car had crashed into a power pole and the power wouldn't be on soon. Each of the theatres in the complex was "evacuated" one at a time and every one was given free passes and discount vouchers for concessions for another time. Will have to go see it this week to see how it ends. It's bloody and violent but in an almost comic book kind of way. All the various big, bad, warriors from the opposing Persian army started to get a bit silly when one guy had blades for hands and there was a huge armed Rhino that a Spartan took down with one spear to the eye. lol! The warrior elephants were just daft and fell over a cliff. Anyway it was ok, and we will go again this week to see the ending.

Off for a Chinese meal after that. The place i was going to suggest was also affected by the power cut so we went to my favourite, Fan's, at the Shannon Park plaza. Mmmmmmmm.... Had one particularly nice dish, sweet and sour shrimp with pineapple and tomato and onion and it was served on a piece of pineapple hull. Quite tasty.

Back to base for the evening.
