Corrie commentary
Feb. 9th, 2003 10:19 amOh I don't know. The show was a little of this and a little of that and not much of anything until the last few scenes between Shelly and Peter. I could have been more interested in this storyline if they had found a better actor for Ciaran.
Line of the Day: I wasn't sure there was going to be one. I could mention the coincidence of Doreen and Audrey talking about men always making a pig's ear of things and in walks Kirk and Les. But then there was Sunita in her excitement about babysitting, "I'm having Curly's baby!" Ok, it's not one of the more outstanding ones, but it'll do.
Ciaran… Well the man has a number of lovely tattoos on those very fetching arms and shoulders but he mumbles and his acting is awkward. Personality wise Ciaran's a real despicable sh*t. So shall we dub him Mumbles O'Swine then? He sure knows where Peter is most vulnerable doesn't he? Some really good scenes and acting at the end with Shelly and Peter. You really could see the pain all over Peter's face, he reeked agony! Well done Chris Gascoyne!
A word to the wise, There *are* no secrets on Coronation Street and trying to keep one always comes back to bite you on the ar$e or otherwise blow up in your face somehow. Doesn't even matter that the Personality Transplant Fairy completed the job on Geena and transformed her into a troublemaking witch. Someone would have let the cat out of the bag. As IF Mike would ever have considered taking out one of his staff in the first place! I'll bet he wishes he had stayed with Audrey in the end! Doreen looked like a chorus girl with that red fluffy thing in her hair and acted like the Abominable Braying Donkey. At least when she found out what Mike did, dumping Audrey for her, she gave him what for admirably.
I'm so sick of Kevin and Sally. One's as bad as the other. Kevin puts on pressure, Sally gives mixed signals. She never should have taken him back in the first place, should have followed her initial instincts. I'm equally sick of Nick and Maria and the sooner they fly away the better even if he's only going to get tired of her and fall in love with someone else, forgetting to tell that girl about Maria cause, just like Audrey desperately tried to excuse him with, He got so over excited he genuinely forgot he had a girlfriend! Pah! Of course knowing Nick, he's about that thick.
Well sick of Geena and Shelly's feud too. And since the Rovers doesn't shut in the afternoon anymore, with all four of them in the back room, who was watching the pub? Did you notice Fiz grabbing Toyah's Vodka and OJ in the background? And I agree, Roy *was* nitpicking. I think Fred looked grand! Ken gets to be agony aunt, bodice ripper and pens a thoughtful issues column every week. Jack of all trades then is he?
