Today's is supposed to be any topic. With that in mind, since everyone else is doing it too, i'll join in the year end meme!
1. Was 2009 a good year for you?
Yes it was on the whole. Probably one of the better ones.
2. What did you do in 2009 that you'd never done before?
Fired a (small) cannon, did a tequila shot, visited quite a few places and museums new to me, joined the iPod generation
3. What was your favorite moment of the year?
Lots! Walking into Grand Place in Brussels at night seeing the amazing buildings all lit up. A canal cruise in Amsterdam and one in Bruges. Seeing the Montreal Canadiens play. Our Corrie event this year with Michael LeVell.
4. What was your least favorite moment of the year?
losing my camera, getting sick while Graham was visiting
5. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Always. I always resolve to try some new things or go some where new.
6. What are your plans for 2010?
Depending on what happens at work with our contract, i'll be visiting the UK in May and we hope to go to Copenhagen.
7. Did anyone close to you give birth?
a cousin's wife had a baby in September that i got to meet in Montreal.
tammihayne had her baby in the spring and i met him later in the summer.
8. Did anyone close to you die?
Not really close but a great auntie died and an old family friend died.
9. How many weddings did you go to?
One in September, a second cousin
10. What countries did you visit?
Netherlands, Belgium, England
11. What date in 2009 will remain etched in your memory?
My 50th birthday i guess.
12. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Worked on a rewrite of a system at work all year. That got implemented a few weeks ago. It was most definitely a team effort. Also signing up to the gym again and getting a personal trainer to make sure i get there!
13. What was your biggest failure?
I don't think i had a big failure
14. Did you suffer any illness or injury?
Mild Swine, flu last winter, fell with minor scrapes and bruises in Montreal.
15. What was the best thing you bought?
iPod touch. I need music for working out but the wiFi was very cool to have while traveling too
16. Whose behavior merited celebration?
my nephew who decided that he wants to be a photographer and got into a year long intensive course. It's so nice to have something that fires him up and nice that we have that interest in common, too
17. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Not appalled and depressed but not to impressed with some of our politicians. No change there then.
18. Where did most of your money go?
Travel
19. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
I was pretty excited to see the Henry VIII exhibit in London and really looked forward to our travels
20. What songs will always remind you of 2009?

sitting on my backside
24. How will you be spending Christmas?
At my mom's with my nephews, niece, niece's bf, sister and her fella.
25. Which LJ users did you meet for the first time?
neenaw which was nice as she was one of my very first LJ flist people way back in 2002 and we'd never met before. A couple others at the picnic in Regent's Park, London (

tga and i don't remember the LJ names of the others).

27. What was your favourite month of 2009?
May because we went to Amsterdam, Brussels, Bruges and London. Saw the Henry VIII exhibit. Met up with great people at Regent's Park at a picnic organized by

28. How did you see in the New Year?
Online with Graham, listening to a snow storm blow against the windows outside
29. What was your favourite TV show?
Coronation Street of course. Also Dexter, Brothers and Sisters, Ugly Betty, Doctor Who
30. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nah
31. What was/were the best books you read?
Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon (and got it signed!)
32. What was your greatest musical discovery?
hmm... Not sure i discovered any new music that i really really liked
33. What did you want and get?
iPod touch
34. What did you want and not get?
Get fitter. but i'm on the road at least
35. What was your favourite film this year?
Julie and Julia probably. But Star Trek was pretty good too.
36. What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?
This was a milestone. I turned 50 this year. there was a joint 50th party for me and my cousin who turns 50 5 days later so that was nice.
37. What one thing would have made your year more satisfying?
a signed contract at work
38. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
casual with some occasional embroidery.
39. What kept you sane?
Graham, family, friends
40. Which celebrity did you fancy the most?
hmm... Clive Owen
41. Which political issue stirred you the most?
I can't remember. So nothing that really stands out i guess.
42. Who did you miss?
Lots of people who are no longer here. Graham as well, since i only get to see him twice a year.
43. Did you treat somebody badly in 2009
I don't think so
44. Did somebody treat you badly in 2009?
no i wouldn't say so.
45. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned this year?
Not really learned this year but make sure you don't take your loved ones for granted.
46. What would you like to have in 2010 that you didn't have in 2009?
Fitness or at least some semblence, a signed contract (good thoughts, please, that we don't go on strike!)
