Jul. 5th, 2003 10:10 amSo much for plans to sit somewhere in the sun. It definitely looks like rain. However i shall endeavor to go see a movie, Whale Rider but damn busses.... i have to leave at 3:10 to get to a 4:30 movie because the next bus, 4:10, inconveniently on Saturdays is only hourly, will not get me to theatre in time. The movie is only playing in one place. There are a few caffs near the theatre though so i'll just stop for a cuppa beforehand.
So i'm just watching the last third of the EE omni. Mel is banged up and woofing her cookies in the toilet in her cell. I can see where this is going. She's been done for drugs trafficking because of her dead husband Steve. Never thought he was into that though he was into plenty of dodgey deals. Former partner Beppe is shitting bricks (of drugs? LOL) Laura is building walls, rowing with Ian and not letting Mel use the meal machine business for bail. She's going to lose everything at this rate. All for the sake of having her own baby and a bit of jealousy.
Interestingly they have written the Queen Mum's funeral into EE. That must have been a last minute rewrite and filming as i'm sure, like Corrie, they probably film 3 or 4 weeks ahead. Nice touch. Corrie never ever refers to real life events like that. Any long time watchers, did they write in about the Princess of Wales' death in 97?
Sharon rang to say Angie has died. Guess she'll be back in the show soon then. Little Mo's trial is coming up next week and Trevor's ex girlfriend has declined to testify. She's freaking. Zoe and the doctor seem to be circling each other. I think they would make a nice couple even with the age gap and she being what? 18? 19?
At least we dont' have Lisa whinging lately. Sam is rapidly approaching Kat as the Square Slapper. So much for her eternal love for Steve. Scorned woman indeed. Beppe has better taste. A few months ago it looked like Beppe and Lynn would get together. I think they would still make a nice couple. Where is Lynn anyway? The character is away looking after a relative but was the actress ill or shooting a movie or something? This would be last spring in the UK. Jamie isn't being very receptive to any of Phil's peace making overtures and being all righteous. Well he's a prat anyway. He's only in the show for eye candy to pull in the teenage girls. Can't act his way out of a paper sack. Sonia is depressed after finally being told she's got to leave her kid alone to grow up with her adopted family. So the pair of them have faces like wet weekends right now.
I guess Jim has finally sorted out the bed situation. Last i saw he had separated the bunk beds and steadied one leg of one with Dot's Bible. Why didn't he just use one of the pieces of wood he cut off the bed leg?
And then there's Janine. She's become a hooker with a card in the local phone booth! Does she know her father is still alive after he pretended to be dead there a few months ago? She must do, Pat and Thingy were going to threaten her with telling Frank. She has no problem using everyone else, why didnt' she just call Frank and ask to come stay with him for awhile? Sure would put us out of our misery. That child has had a knot in her face of Gordian proportions for months now. I did almost feel a bit sorry for her, having hit so low as to hit the streets (or phone booths).
