I was going to say I hadn't started Christmas shopping yet, something unusual for me, but i remembered that I have actually bought something for G. He's doing a special art project for Christmas so that will cover most of the people in my family that we give to. I might pick up a little something else for my mom, too. I think it'll just be gift cards for his family in the UK. I suppose most of mine would be quite happy with those these days as well. As my nephews and niece head into their 30s, really, they don't need anything or ask for much but they do appreciate the gift cards. I don't really like giving "money" for Christmas presents but i guess it will probably come to that eventually. I do have to pick up a few gifts for friends, one of which I'll have to put in the mail before the end of the month but that one is usually just some little thing, nothing large or heavy. I'll have to start looking around at craft sales. I know what I want to get for G. for his main gift and I think i'll be getting it from Amazon. I can get it delivered to the post office by the office here and then I can wrap his things before taking them home nearer the day.
Not sure where I'm going to put the Christmas tree. All of his boxes are still in the spot where i usually put it so he'll have to do something with those. I'm sure i can fit some of them in my storage room. Once I take the decorations and tree out, we can slide in his boxes and when I pack all the Xmas stuff back up, it can just go on top of his boxes.
Saturday is the Hal-Con, a scifi convention that's been gitting bigger and bigger every year. I've never been before though thought about it. Just didn't want to go on my own but G. is keen so we have tickets. There's also one guest that he would like to have a photo with, so we got a ticket for that. Only to find out yesterday that it's an autograph ticket and doesn't seem to include photo so we ended up buying a second ticket for the photo. All of these tickets are non refundable so you can't change them. I know it's going to be crowded, not looking forward to that, but I am looking forward to seeing people in costume, looking around the vendors and seeing if there are talks and demos that might be interesting. There is a costume contest, but that's on Sunday and we only bought one day tickets, Saturday. If we go again next year, maybe we'll get weekend passes.
I'm not dressing up but i do have Tardis earrings and a necklace that has the Tardis worked into the design so I'll wear that with a deep blue top. My friend Denise is going and says she's dressing up. Maybe she's wearing the Tardis dress that she wore to our wedding! Where else are you going to wear it, after all?
