Almost all packed. Last of the laundry will be done today so I can get the rest of what I want to bring.

Paperwork is all printed. I know, I know. It's also all loaded on a couple of cloud drives but I still like having the paper copy when checking in places. The PDF files really aren't mobile friendly even when using a mobile PDF app. I can check in to the flight using the Air Canada app but then they still end up printing you a boarding pass at the airport anyway so I might as well do it myself.

I've contacted everyone I need to for the first leg of the trip. My aunt and uncle will pick us up at the airport tomorrow night. My best friend will meet us at the Toronto airport for lunch and a chat for a few hours during the 7 hour layover! Drive to the airport all set for tomorrow morning.

We are really looking forward to this! The last couple of times I've been away to the UK we really didn't have a "big" trip, just a few day trips and one 3 day road trip. From here we had a couple of short road trips and they have all be fun and everything, but it's not like being away "away", is it? The last time I was in the UK before G. moved here, we had a road trip and the UK wedding reception. The time before that was to pack up his flat and move him here. I think we took one day off and that was to hang out with friends. We might have had one other day trip, I forget. The visit before that was when his dad was in the hospice. We did have one or two days where we took drives and we had a weekend in London before I flew home, that was when I arrived home and then got the call that his dad died that night. When G. came to Canada after his dad died, we went down to Salem and Boston, another road trip of a few days or so. I think the last "big" trip was when we went to Rome probably or New York after that I guess. This is the biggest away trip we've been on, certainly the longest. Any of the others have always been 2 to 5 days max. This is 2.5 weeks, a mix of visiting family and friends and sightseeing. It's all new to him and Hawaii is new to me, too.

I do have some concerns. The flight to Hawaii and back is not going to be that comfortable though we did pay for extra leg room seats which will probably just make it the same as the normal Air Canada overseas flight. This is their budget airline Rouge and there's less space between the seats apparently. We're also going on a submarine and that will be fun. My only concern is the ladder to get down and back up from the inside of it. I think I'll  be able to manage it, I just hope it isn't too difficult and people are patient if I have to do it slowly. Anyway, it'll all be good. The flight from here to BC and back is business class so that will be comfortable at least. King size beds in all the hotels, too. Looking forward to seeing family that i don't get to see very often.

It's all good!
