My mate Denise and i went to our annual Shakespear by the Sea play tonight. This was the Merry Wives of Windsor, a first for both of us. Instead of in the park, they also do a show outside the Casino on the waterfront in a covered sort of ampitheatre, very small though, probably only holds about 100. Came in handy though tonight as it was lightly raining. There are heaters under the eaves of this thing too so though there was a breeze, there was also heat. 2/3 or so of it is glassed in walls as well. Anyway... for the first 10 minutes we didn't understand a thing! One of the actors was playing an old man and trying to talk like one. We never did get anything he said. Falstaff was also played by a man who was exaggerating his accent and he was hard to decipher as well. Most of the actors did their character in various accents, one was French and again difficult to make out over the exaggerated accent, one was a Texan who doubled as an Italian for his character's disguise. The two wives were broad out Newfoundland and they were quite good and this one chick, and i use that literally, was squaking like a half chicken LOL ! Unusual. This company is usually innovative and puts on a good show though this wasn't as good as some we've seen. They're also doing Corilianus which neither Denise nor i have seen either so we're going to try to catch that. It's nice seeing it in the park at the old battery ruins too.

Before that we had supper at the Casino buffet restaurant, my treat for her birthday last week and after the play we killed time in the Casino. I lost my 12 dollars lol Denise played 20 and came out with 17 so not bad there. We've decided to have a long weekend up in Cape Breton in August. We meant to do the road trip last year but it didn't come off. I'll put in for a day vacation on the Friday as i still have lots left. We'll go splits on the gas and the b&b's, probably stop in Cheticamp and Baddeck. I'll make sure i connect up with my irc mate Adrian in Margaree Harbour as well. I've never been to CB nor around the spectuacular Cabot Trail so i'm stoked!

I didn't know the casino had a buffet restaurant? That's not TGI Fridays is it? I've been there but I don't think it's what you are talking about.

The trip around Cape Breton sounds nice. I bet you'll love the views. I was scared stiff the whole time cause we went around it in a rickety old motor home with smoking brakes. And I'm not a good *height* person...lol

Yep buffet restaurant. Usually pretty good. Two of us eat for 27.50 i think and it included a non-alcoholic drink.
