I watched Canadian Idol tonight for the first time. God what an annoying show ;) i guess watching the show that broadcasts the results is probably the worst of the two because they just drag it out and fill in with all sorts of crap. I just wanted to see if the Nova Scotia boy stayed on and he did :) I think i'll just wait for the newspaper the next day from now on. I don't care for these kinds of shows but it's nice that a local boy is doing so well.

I hate the voting shows too..really enjoy the shows that they sing tho for sure.
I was too tired to wait the hour last night to see who was voted off..so waited for the paper lol.

I like the singing show (competitions shows) but the results shows are usually only 1/2 hour and are not as drawn out as that. I don't think it's too bad. Ben Mulroney and that other loon they have hosting it make it silly. Hopefully when they do this again, they'll get some one that will bring a bit more respect to the show.
Other than that...it's an awesome way to showcase our country's talent and for them to "make it" in the industry without having to prostitute themselves to every joe blow "I'll make you a star, kid" types.

It figures, the one show i watch is twice as long and not nearly as good as the singing show. Problem is it's put me off it. I found the hosts particularly off putting. I don't watch reality shows. I watched two episodes of the recent Amazing Race thinking the travel aspect might be neat but i found most of the participants huge whiners. they didn't know their partner was like that, the other teams were all against them, criticizing their partners and the others, just generally being sour and pathetic. Nobody seemed to be having fun.

I've been watching CDN Idol...no idea why because I detest Ben Mulroney. He is about as funny as my big toe. It really is a pathetic attempt at trying to be like the American version...very sad. No wonder the US makes fun of us. I am glad that Jenny is gone. Everyone says she is so "different" and different is good...but man...she CANNOT sing IMHO. Her faces and expressions are painful to watch. And her dancing? What kinda 50something year old woman jig was that? AUGH.

She's from Newfoundland. they Jig ;) I never watched American Idol so i can't compare. And between the two on the gangplank, i didn't care for Jenny's singing as compared to the other bloke so i can see why she was voted out.
