Was off today, my flex day. I took the bus out to
Pete's Frootique, a really great shop that has really fresh veg and fruit, a butcher, a fantastic cheese and deli counter, and he has a section that sells
British import groceries. I wanted to have a browse through there in particular. I came out with a jar of Horlick's (malted milk drink), a tin of Dandelion and Burdock (which i've never tried), a jar of Branston Pickle, some real British Cadbury's chocolate and drinking chocolate, a small box of Tunnock's tea cakes which, to my surprise, aren't cake at all, but something similar to what we call Malomars (chocolate covered marshmallow on a cookie type base). Oh and a walnut whip which is much the same as a Tunnock's but with a walnut on top.
I met Josephine for tea but in the end we got our tea/coffee and came back to my place for a quick visit because i was supposed to go to Tracey's but forgot the stuff i meant to bring to her. She dropped me off at T's and i had a visit there and held the baby for my "fix".
Off to the gym. Good workout. I find i get a better workout when i go on a day off rather than after work. I think i feel more rushed when i go after work or even when i go back down in the evening. When i go on days off, it's far less crowded and i'm not in such a hurry to get home. I also did 10 minutes on the BodyTrek machine today though the last 3 or 4 were rough. It's a kind of machine that simulates cross country ski movement but is a half-ski, half-walk/run movement. Very good for the lower body. Easier than the evil, bad and wrong Stair "Monster" but more of a challenge than the treadmill.
I want to nip over to Wally World tomorrow and see what they have for easels before the class on Sunday so i may go to the gym again, just for cardio stuff. I'll see how things go.
